In this tutorial, I show how to turn a handle for a bottle opener. The bottle opener kit comes from Rockler, and it’s quite easy to put together. You just need to turn the handle on the lathe using a roughing gouge and I used a round carbide tool. The wood I used is a piece of Canary wood and looks beautiful.
To add some accents, I used my wire burners to add 3 decorative lines.
What You’ll Need
- Block of wood – 2 inch by 2 inch by 6 inch
- Turning tools
- Rockler Bottle Opener Kit (includes Allen wrench)
- Thick CA Glue
- Wire burners
