I love this Steampunk Pen kit from Penn State Industries. Read this excerpt from the catalog telling about the Steampunk kit:
Here’s a pen kit straight out of Victorian science fiction and the industrialized 19th century. The Steampunk genre has reignited a love of old fashioned materials and is all about mixing the old and new, fusing the usability of modern technology with the design aesthetic and philosophy of the Victorian age.
The design incorporates 24 small flat head screws which wrap around the pen. It features a replica Gatling machine gun barrel. The pen advances and retracts the ink refill by means of the popular bolt action mechanism. The plating on this pen is antique copper and brass chrome.
I used Bocote wood which is a beautiful exotic wood found in Mexico and Central America. It’s a very hard and durable wood. The pen uses a Parker Style refill, readily available in office supply stores.
The retail value of this pen is $70.

I’ve always enjoyed photography because it is an excuse to get out & do something that isn’t necessarily productive & have fun. Nature trails, soccer games, if I have a camera I have a great time & get to relive the experience when I look at the pictures later. Now that I have children, they are my subjects. They are my favorite photo props 🙂
My favorite craft hobby is making dishes, glasses and vases out of recycled bottles. I love doing it as there is a satisfaction in making something which would otherwise go to waste.
